Well... I'm going to go ahead and start off by saying that so far... I HATE THE MOVIE! I don't know why but the actor playing Mitch really pisses me off, he's not how I imagined him at all. But anyways, one of the major differences between the book and the movie so far is that instead of telling Ted Koppel on Nightline that he wasn't going to be able to wipe his own ass, he tells Mitch in the very first meeting. And also, in the movie it seems like they just took a few notable Morrie quotes from random places in the book and threw them all into the first Tuesday... this also made me angry >:( . Also, the movie kind of gives a little inside look at Mitch and Janine's relationship, and Morrie and Mitch even have a little conversation about their marital status, and I don't think that has happened yet so far in the book.
The similarities between the book and movie are that all of the characters names are the same in the movie as they are in the book (That would be weird if they weren't because they are all real people). Also, I noticed that they actually used part of the original Nightline clip for when Mitch finds out about Morrie being sick when he sees him on T.V.
